Ah yes, I forgot about that. Do you actually get XP for those free wins though? I would have thought that'd be a bit frowned upon, since even getting the capped 10 XP from a win is pretty major.

Hold on. I thought I just read that you always win your first fight against barbs. Is this true? It could make a bit of a difference to my early game strategy, if so.
up to prince, if I remember well, you win your first barb fight
at settler you can send your scout in the middle of a bears festival![]()
Yesterday i played archipelago mp and the only barb i saw was the one warrior that appeared when i popped a hut with my warrior. It was noble and my warrior lost. These free wins do definitely not exist in MP on noble.
From what I remember of free wins from when I played on lower levels:There is something to explore here.
I usually play on monarch so I just cannot rely on those free wins, but I have a few things to test:
- is it only on attack?
- does it apply to all units (= including animals) ?
- what's the exact result of a "free win" (are you hurt or not?)
- do you get full XP for those?
- No, both attack and defence
I think I'll err on the side of caution until you guys can get your story straight.![]()
That sounds like the most reasonable course to take. Even with generous free wins, you'll hardly find yourself at a disadvantage for not embracing them.
