High-level help

Hello. I could definitely use some help in beating the AI at levels of monarch and higher. I'd like to complete the quattromasters challenge but so far I've only managed to beat the AI once on monarch level and that wasn't even a HoF game.

If you decide to help me I'd prefer it if you could limit your advice to duel maps since I'm not too great with the diplomatic niceties of this game.
