Germany falls short at Rostov
The German Wehrmacht is stunned for the first time as Soviet forces blunt the German advance on the Southern Front. The invincible Nazi war machine is halted and Adolf Hitler himself is demanding answers for the failed attempt to capture the Russian city of Rostov.
Tula is captured by Army Group Center but it is determined that it would be to costly to hold and German forces move back to fortify just outside the city.
