Hey guys I have the save and will play it tonight

I went to bed early last night and missed Eric's email with the save.

I have been very under the weather this week and also have a huge work load so I will try and muddle through as fast and best as possible with this.

I am having a great time with this game and don't want to slow it down so I am off to "Get'er done"

J...I know I speak for my fellow Allies that your health is of great concern to us above all else. So do feel free to just forward the turn as is without struggling with the game and get a good night's rest!!!:mischief:

And I'm sure you and Eric are having a GREAT time playing this game given how badly you two are beating up on us!

Get Well!

Germany Sping 1942

There is great concern in the Nazi party this month as Adolf Hitler has seemed to change his demeanor.

Hitler seems a lot less hyper and jumpy and has hardly shown much interest in the war. Goebbels and Himmler are very concerned about the Führer's health and plan to confront his new doctor to find out what is going on.
The Wehrmacht has taken advantage of this lapse in interest by the Führer in the war and have taken steps to to fix what they seem to think is going wrong with the war.
First off a entire overhaul of the Army structure takes place and the new Pentagon is of great help in this endeavor. A whole new plan of attack in Russia is put forth and implemented giving the field commanders more flexibility in conducting operations at the front.

Northern Front
All is quiet in the far North as the frozen Russian Winter is still in effect near Murmansk.

Leningrad
The Baltic Fleet this month continues it's bombardment of the city of Leningrad.

Another large force led by the 16th Army moves into position 2 Tiles Northwest of Moscow.

Southern Front

All quite on the Southern Front after the Italian defeat at Maikop.

North Afrika
The Afrika Korp moves back into Bengazi and takes up defensive positions after the beating they took at the hands of the British RAF and Royal Navy.
It seems a Stuka was destroyed in Bengazi as well from the massive bombings that took place last month.
The Luftwaffe detachment in North Africa took a beating as well and no flight missions where undertaken this month.

To be continued.......

1942 April

Stalin wakes up happily in the beautiful spring morning after long night of thinking new lines for his next poetry book "Hitler is stupid and Soviet Union is eternal", but very quickly the day is ruined when the staff catches enough courage to tell the news about German advances...

After the initial wrath is over, few staff members in concussion and the speech of Stalin is starting to sound understandable, quick responses are prepared to tackle the German offensive.

Battle reports:

Last remaining blizzard fizzles away to the warmth of the spring.

Yeah, he's having trouble with his internet connection, but he was able to play the Minor Allies (he emailed us and Eric). Repairman is on the way and he should be able to play CW in few days at least hopefully.

So I guess we can call GPS on Minor Allies, he will probably post the report when he is able to.

finally up and running again will post Minor Allies in a few moments. Will then play the CW this afternoon. Things have been unsettled with me in a bare bones setting but I'm hoping the worst is behind. Appreciate everyones patience!

THe Allies mourn the loss of its brave sailors as the UBoat war has certainly heated up!

The Admiralty proclaims, All Out Effort at ALL COSTS to seek out and sink every UBoat at sea to avenge the loss of CA Salvador! Unofficially there may be a bounty on the U-77 for its suspected machine gunning of sailors in rafts......

It is also believed that new technology will be applied to the efforts to find and sink the U-77 and its brother sea wolves!

GPS to....ME! I will get the turn played by mid-afternoon so as to not slow the play down as I did here the last couple of days. The problem was both modem, software, billing and the techs also crashed my laptop in the process. But thanks to HP support the laptop is back and for the time being so is my rural internet. This move to Nebraska is really going back into time internet wise.

Minor Axis April 1942

Russia
  • Scout aircraft spot the Black Sea Fleet trying to be sneaky near the Turkish coast. A visit from a Ju-88 bomber wing does 1 damage to the Flagship 2/4 to 1/4.
  • The Regia Aeronautica suffers a grevious blow when the elite 1st Fighter Division is mauled by Russian interceptors near Stalingrad. All the better that the Red Air Force suffers no damage. In true form, Mussolini promptly orders the 2nd Fighter Div to probe the area again, and it also is shot down with no damage to the defending Soviets.
  • Air strikes by the 10th S.A. damage the Russian 17th Guards Cavalry 3/3 to 1/3 outside of Maikop.
The Med
  • Battleships Littorio and Veneto shell Malta, each doing 1 damage to an unidentified Royal Navy vessel and sinking it. Veneto promoted to veteran 3/3. CA Bulzano damages the garrison by 1 HP.
  • A fast transport spots a periscope about 45 nautical miles east of southern Sardinia. Fast action by the crew sinks the sub (unknown if American or Commonwealth) with no damage sustained, promoted to veteran 4/4.

GPS to the Americans with Elephantium. After the agonizing slowness of the AOI games, I appreciate the effort everyone makes to keep the pace going strong!

If your sailors had spent the time checking they would have seen the dead wearing the Union Jack underwear....
and AoI...With a month often between turns I wonder why we even bother?

Eric,
I haven't heard anything from E since I posted my turn results nor a reply to my turn strategy email. AB didn't send the save to the rest of us. I emailed him this evening to do so in case E isn't able to play the turn.

It may be the winter weather that is causing fits! If AB sends me the save and we don't hear from E by tomorrow then I can play the US turn, though I much prefer E do his turn.
