Hinge Of Fate Game - Edelweiss

Nature, July '42:

A double dose of Dengue Fever strikes Japanese garrison at Sarawak's Oil Colony => 2/4 Japanese Inf Div
Malaria strikes the oil fields near Palembang; the troops are taking their quinine, so the unit strength is unaffected.
Sandstorm blows in near Tunis and makes life uncomfortable for the 23rd Inf Corp, but they weather the storm with no losses.

GPS to Japan.

Do I read these results right that the IJA 11th Army was destroyed by one of my Inf Divs defending Sian???

At any rate that Sian HELD is huge for the Minor Allies given the size of the force that was threatening the city. Not to mention Japan lost two Zekes and a Betty Bomber. I'm very happy with those results!

I have the save and will play it tonight when I get home from work.
Out of town guest is flying home this afternoon so I will be able to give it my full attention.

The German Luffwaffe did one heck of a job this turn:clap:

The Krigsmarine not so good :nono:

Wanted to ask one weird thing before playing my turn.

For some reason my units can (or at least some of them) can travel 4 tiles in roads for 1 movement cost. Is this normal feature of the game or is something bugged?

Everywhere else the movement seems to work normally (I don't get extra movements when not in road) and this isn't happening to me in anywhere else but in this scenario.

Just wanted to make sure how I should respond to this because if it is a bug it would benefit me greatly for this turn and I don't want to play my turn if it's something that shouldn't happen. :(

I will play later today if I get answers to this.

It's a deliberate alteration made by Eric when he designed the game. In the editor you can choose the amount of tiles that you can cover by road per turn. In the normal game it's three; here it's four.

Thanks for quick response! :) Missed the info earlier when I tried to look reason for it.

As the pressure is building in all around West Front and inside Soviet territory some hard decisions are made by the cabinet where to concentrate forces... After big arguments between the generals, it is Minor Axis that get to feel the wrath of Soviet tank technology. :goodjob:

Also,

I will be camping from about Monday to Sunday next week. :)

I would prefer to play the save my self but obviously if it gets to me quickly, send it also to my allies. It is also not guaranteed that I will be home by Sunday.

The focus of the China War Theater is squarely at saving Sian from falling into the Japanese Army's control. Meager reinforcements arrive to bolster the desperate defenders. Stillwell orders the 1st & 2nd China Air Wings to fly night and day bombing missions against the Japanese troops surrounding the city............

July 1942 finds British/Commonwealth Forces engaged against the Axis Forces of Evil all over the globe. Fighting is fierce on the ground and at sea. The outcome of all battles is at the moment...uncertain.

Churchill tells England....we will fight harder to give America the time it needs to build its awesome forces! And for Russia to bring its newest tanks into battle......
