Probably true CH but I've had enough of them, the malaria bugs, dengue fever, ice cubes, Force 9 Gales and those darn sandstorms that act unrealistically like guided missles right at the CW & Minor Allies all game!!!

1943 brings difficult times for the German people as the war drags on and shortages of everything imaginable continue to plague the populace. Support for the war is starting to wayne as celebrations in honor of the Third Reich come to a halt all over the country. To compound matters the constant day and night bombing by the Western Allies has severely damaged the German infrastructure as war production has dropped.
The high command was planning a quiet month of February but some openings did appear and the Wehrmacht took full advantage of any advantages presented. Not to be out done by the Army, Reichsmarschall Göring's Luffwaffe inflicted considerable damage to the Allies as well.
Not to be out done by the Army and Air Force the Kriegsmarine got into the action also this month.

News of the British invasion in Bordeaux receives little attention in the Fascist press, although in smoky and dimly lit rooms across the country, Italians tuning in to illegal broadcasts suspect that the situation there is more serious. Good news, however, receives no shortage of attention.

- A fighter wing flies over Malta but cannot spot the damaged British battleships. A bombing run follows, inflicting 3 damage on Maltese fortified troops (Ju-88 bombs FD 4/4 to 1/4).
- Dive bombers scouting the Tunisian/Algerian border spot the retreating U.S. Marines, and a fresh Commonwealth tank corps and independent tank division. American interceptors race in and savage the Italian air forces (U.S. ? aircraft destroys Stuka and survives 1/3).
- A long range bomb run spots U.S. B-17 bombers refueling in Oran. Damage reports are sketchy but the lone attack was a success (Ju-88 bombs B-17 3/3 to 1/3).
- Italian Air Forces swarm over Sardinia, determined to crush the American invaders there:

- Two Ju-88s hit for 1 each and two stukas hit for 2 each on American Marines (4 aircraft hit US Marine Corps 7/7 to 1/7).
- Vichy forces mobilize for the defense of southern France but make no moves to the front. It seems the Vichy government may be waiting to see who will come out on top in this engagement...
