I wanted to submit some run for HOT but can't login into HOF site...
When I am trying to connect with my forum password i am getting:

I haven't got password in next 5 hours.
If somebody can help with this will be appreciated...

That was my first thought.

So, I've made my first submission.
But I have couple of questions as I am just new with this Buffy Mod. I have just installed Buffy 0.005, but two things are little bit strange ( though they allow to play).

1. First is that some text in it is in French!
It is not all of it, just here and there ( probably new messages, that are were not in original mode, but i just little surprised)
Was it intended to be like this?

2. Also, it seems to me that F1 - Domestic Advisor button doesn't work. It does nothing. All other advisors are working, just this one doesn't work.

I have just installed Buffy 0.005, but two things are little bit strange

As per our conversation something is not right with your installation, the game crashes when I try to load your saves. What version of Civ IV do you have (Steam, GOG, CD)?

I believe it is from CD that I have got many, many years ago.

Tried to check my start save by using site. I have got this two problems:

Regarding 'Map already used' - what does this mean?
I mean, I've used MapFinder to find this start save. It allowed, right?
My actions were like this:


1. I've started a new custom game.
2. I've pressed CTRL+ALT+G to start mapfinder search.
3. After some time I've pressed CTRL+SHIFT+ALT+G to finish the search.
4. I've opened mapfinder and looked at screenshots of the saves to find the best one.
5. I've pressed 'Load game' and loaded the best save.
6. Played the game.


Was something wrong with my actions?

No that sounds correct, can you send me the file please?

Your build looks correct, what language is your system?

Can you run Asset Checker please, it's not perfect for Buffy 005 but might give some indications.

No that sounds correct, can you send me the file please? - it is the same submission that I have done ( initial save ).
Your build looks correct, what language is your system? - English. Though installation of the game probably was done by russian version of the game.
Can you run Asset Checker please, it's not perfect for Buffy 005 but might give some indications. - Asset Checker expects files to be in directory 3.19.003..
So, it just says that all files are missing from directory 3.19.003, and all files are extra in 3.19.005.
May be I should install Buffy 3.19.003, but I can't find it.

Regarding python scripts differences - yes, I've changed some in BTS ( actually, I am using VetScreenMod for better visibility ), but this still doesn't apply to BUFFY mod, right? All of this scripts are different in Buffy anyway...

May be the only file it is using is Assets/XML/GlobalDefines.xml.
Regarding Assets/XML/GlobalDefines.xml - not sure what I've changed there... may be experimented with limit for wonders, but I've returned it back. If somebody could send me the correct file...

Are you able to re-install? That's the easiest way to ensure your assets are correct.

Hm... that CD probably not with me anymore. Should I buy steam version? What is the best overall version at the moment?

That would be ideal if you can.

Either Steam (https://store.steampowered.com/app/3900/Sid_Meiers_Civilization_IV/) or GOG (https://www.gog.com/en/game/sid_meiers_civilization_iv_the_complete_edition) is a good choice. For steam you need to opt into the beta version, for GOG you will need a patch from me.

Okay... I've Installed Steam version. Now starting save check says that everything is okay. Will try to make another submission.
A little bit sorry about this submission at 1600BC win on Chieftain - was really lucky with huts.
Probably it will be really hard to repeat that.
But current hi-score is 1180BC, so still have a lot of spare, don't need any luck actually to improve it)

Hmm, what does mean 'wrong starting save'? Was it from another game?
Sent you save from MapFinder.

P.S. It was smart that my first attempts were from duel maps and quick speed, I would be really frustrated otherwise)

P.P.S. With new clean installation from Steam - all that issues with French language, not working domestic advisor etc. also have gone away.

Yes, we specifically recommend that to avoid wasting too much time.

Do you mean one game? If so yes but note the guidance below.
