Homosexuality Illegal?!

One could ask how is rape a crime by your logic.

Rape is not criminal (from an extremely religious fundamendalist viewpoint). The urge to rape is merely a signal from God that it is His will that the rapist procreate. The so-called victim is the sinner if she does not give her consent because she is ignoring God's will. God didn't knock up a virgin for nothing.

If anybody takes this post seriously, well amen and don't forget to tithe.

I wonder if people like us aren't sapping the thrill of gay sex for people who do it, by telling them how fine and boring it is.

I'll go out on a limb here and say dont knock it til you've tried it.

That being said. I can't knock it. BUT. The idea of it makes me uneasy. Does that mean it should be illegal? no facts, just opinions?

well I guess things shouldnt go in to places that are designed for things to come out of.

The nice thing about democracy is that if enough people think it, they can make it law. hmmmm.

Overall, I dont have a strong enough opinion on the matter to argue.

Now, what is your favorite Queen song?:D

Any country that dose not alow people to have sex with hom ever they want and how ever they want is NOT democratic.

Which poses no problem for those of us who are not advocates of democracy.

That reminds me of the recent campaign in Russia against pornographic films on TV, even after 1.00 a.m. The answer, I think, is very simple - if you don't like them, don't watch and go to bed early.

This whole subject is becoming decidedly uncomfortable...

Nevermind. Post no longer applicable. Thanks, Lefty! :goodjob:

OK thanks, lefty

I'll get off this thread and go discuss more significant matters.

I dont wan't do see any fists fly.
All the best,

This is a matter of people just need to mind their own business.

People for making homosexuallity illegal fall firmly into two categories. They are either:

1) A backwoods living, dirt road walking, water melon seed spitting #&^*!$ red neck hicks that ain't never been much into no book learnin'. These people like to string other people up from trees for being different.

2) Number one, disguised as something else.

I'd like to see someone actually try and get a conviction. At least, somewhere other than the deep south.

Being homosexual is NOT something that one makes a decision about.

To say so is just pointing out your ignorance of the facts. One can no more choose their sexual orientation than once can choose whether or not he likes brocoli or salmon.

If you are a male and desire onle males, nothing's going to make you desire females. Same as if you are male and desire only females.

I can see how somebody that is maybe a little confused as to their own sexuality could make the mistake of believing it is a choice, however.

Other than that, you are merely railing against something you don't understand.

You like, desire and crave what you like, desire and crave. It IS as simple as that.

The religious fundamentalists, our own version of the taliban, needs to back the !$!%&^ off and mind their own business.

Kind of like those guys in Deliverance.

Lefty, I work in Texas but live in Oklahoma -- both states do discriminate in their laws concerning sodomy -- i.e. it's okay for heterosexuals, but not for homosexuals. It's all rather weird, and definitely backward. Considering the number of homosexuals who live in both states, it's rather amazing that the laws still stand.

Now that has to be one of the worst stereotypes on this thread, worse than that of people who are for making homosexuality illegal. I wasnt going to bring religion into this, but the bible is against homosexuality. So unless people who believe and follow the bible are backwoods living, dirt road walking, water melon seed spitting, red neck hicks, you should do a little more research before generalizing like that.

Ok maybe he was using a brush that's too broad, but don't make the mistake of mistaking religious belief for the law. he said "People for making homosexuallity illegal...": the important word here being "illegal". that has nothing to do with people who just don't like it. if you (or they) think your religion tells you that homosexuality is wrong, fine don't do it. but don't go imposing your religious belief by means of laws on those that don't believe like you do.

There really is nothing uglier than a stereotype. It paints the world in simple black and white tones, providing easy and comforting answers for those who hold them. People are far more complex than any stereotype can possibly explain.

Now, to get back on topic: I'm glad that you brought up religion tpasmall. It seems to be the main reason why you are opposed to homosexuality. I don't think that makes you anything but a devout Christian. Be thankful you live in a country where you are allowed to hold your religious beliefs, and practice them as you see fit. It is the 1st Amendment of the U.S. Contitution that gives you this amazing right. It gives EVERYONE this right. And as it recognizes there are a plethra of differing religious beliefs, it also has the wisdom to exclude these beliefs in the exercise of government and law.

Since almost all of the anti-gay sentiment is religious in nature, it has no place in deciding the rights of ANY American.

And the Bible also says, don't touch a baldman, and breaking the Sabbath will bring death. etc... etc... Wow the logic of the Bible.
