Lately every darn upgrade is hopelessly flawed and it takes 4-5 patches to get it balanced out. I feel like such a sucker for paying top $ to get the newest version or DLC only to learn it needs so much work before its enjoyable again.

Right now I am determined to never buy another version or DLC for full price again. Might as well wait until Steam does a 50% off sale since that is the sign that they may have finally figured things out. I really wish it weren't so and am totally ready to pay top dollar to support a great franchise, but I can't stand being a sucker 5x running.

You tell yourself you won't buy it immediately, but then when it comes out.........

Who can resist? The Civ Game is always fun, but after you've played G&K a godzillion times you need the change.

There is already a rants thread...and please don't feed the trolls...thank you!

Not trollin', though I may be ranting....

So tired of restarting whenever I see the Shoshone, or El Dorado, or see a lousy start position or see religions founded pre-2000 BC.

Argh.

Prince level, Spain, Quick Combat; as a fair warning.

Head left for Lake Victoria and Kilimanjaro, and head right for Old Faithful. Sri Pada is available if you build a boat but another civ could easily beat you to it. You cannot get Lake Victoria before the CS does so use a GG instead.

Sometimes, you just need a fun, relaxing game to cool off. This is one of those relaxing games if you want, though you shouldn't take setbacks so harshly, so easily. It's a fun game, but its still a game and a game is nothing without other people trying to win.

You have a problem with something like that? Lol. Civilization games are about historical things, but not about that those things have to play out exactly as they did in our world. If that is your reason not to have fun with the game, then I don't know. The only thing I can propose to you is to play some Paradox game. There you have historical starting positions, exactly how countries were placed back then, but even in their games a lot of ahictorical stuff can happen. Overall, just try to enjoy the game as it is ;)

My objection to those things is that they are overpowered. And again, I don't have any objection to the game as a whole or the series, and I'm very confident that in time Firaxis will repair the things I found stupid.

I'm just pointing out that its dumb to pay a premium for a new version or DLC that you ~know~ will need several patches to get back in balance.

Oh well, if you all want to pay top dollar to be a beta tester, go ahead. I think I'm done doing that.

El derado has been around for a long time as well as other op NW's. OP civs also don't really get fixed. It's been a long time and Spain is OP as ever. Don't expect Shoshone to get nerfed, ever. Look at mega ultra broken camels/kesheik, still around. Just play. Usually ppl who pick OP civs need the advantage anyways. If ur good and you play an OP civ then shame on you.
