Why is this a question
The hoover dam is extremely powerful.

Somone would have still answered 'no' for thatOriginally posted by satchel
This is great! it's 48-0 right now. I don't think I could have constructed such a one-sided poll if I had tried. Maybe:
Do you breathe oxygen?
o Yes - it's the stuff of life
o No - can't stand that crap!

HD gives a hydro plants to all cities(or on a continent) which boost 50% production AND it allows u to build another plant. It is definately a must have, I always go after electronics( I would rather give up my theory of evolution to hoover dam i.e. stop building it and let the AI have it, or change it to HD) I think the production bonus fopr hydro + solar is 150% X 150% = 225% production (i think) hydro + nuclear is 150% X 250 % = 325% (i think)

Rule 2: Only one plant's effects per city. Same hypothetical. HD gives the effect of a hydro plant in every continental city - so you will see a maintenance-free hydro icon in the city improvements list. Even if you build a coal plant, you will still see the hydro icon in the improvements list (whereas without Hoover, the hydro icon would disappear and be replaced by a coal plant icon). Nonetheless, you do not enjoy the effects of both the HD-inspired hydro plant and the coal plant. Your output will still be 40 shields (20 + 10 +10), but you will also enjoy the pollution and maintenance costs of the coal plant. Adding a nuclear plant will increase the output, but once again you will not enjoy both the 100% boost of the nuclear plant and the 50% boost of the Hoover-inspired hydro.

So I have to ask again: Does Hoover Dam bother with your nuclear plants? That seemed to me the only (but very severe) drawback.
