hotmail driving me insane! please help

i use hotmail (well, mostly. i use yahoo and gmail as well.) every time i reply to an email hotmail automatically turns the previous message into a .txt or .htm/.html document. WHY? i swear i am going to assasinate Bill Gates! all i want is to have the previous message typed just before my reply instead of me having to copy and paste it into the reply. it used to not do this to me. dont know what happened! ive tried everything! (well, obviously not everything or i wouldnt be whining. but almost everything....)

PLEASE HELP BEFORE I COMMIT A FELONY!!!!!!

Hotmail is the Great Satan. I used to have this same problem of sometimes it was included, sometimes it wasn't. Then it screwed up and I couldn't send mail for a week and a half, so I pretty much gave up on it.

EDIT: In fairness, I should say that it worked flawlessly for about two years, and it did have some features I've been unable to find elsewhere.

I use Gmail. Hotmail is only for MSN Gmail is safer and hotmail is...well...not that safe

Switch to Gmail. I use Hotmail only for MSN and reciving MSN stock alerts. I use Yahoo as spam and Gmail for personal emails. Gmail is much easier to use for personal emails as the conversation feature is so usefull.

Are you using the hotmail homepage web interface, or are you importing your email to Outlook Express or something like that? Try the one you're not using.
And, are you using the "enable MSN smilies in email" thingy? Could be something to do with that...

I use SBC Yahoo! mail as well as Gmail.
I love both.

No, they stopped allowing free users using Outlook a while ago.
