How devastating is it when you get beat to a wonder by a couple of turns?

i say something like "damned bastards" and keep on playing

Much more devastating early than late.

The real burn is when you use a GE for a rush build and the AI builds it that very turn! It can and does happen.

Depends on the wonder im building. Some wonders i just start to build and dont care if someone else finishes it first, for example if i havent got anything better to build in a city. The gold you get is ok.

It's not as annoying as Civ3 where you were forced to put like 2000 production (shields in those days lol) into a library and didn't get any back. :cringe:

It's as devastating as when the Spy saps your teleporter in one of TF2's larger maps. If you've put a lot of strategic emphasis on it, obviously it's going to bite you in the butt.

The most devastating was the time I burned a GE on Chichen Itza, with 4 GG's ready to burn on golden ages -- only to be beaten to it. I can only assume the AI had used a GE the turn before me. All those hammers gone for a measly few hundred gold.

Its fine. It doesn't bother me at all. If their weren't obstacle to overcome what would be the point?

. When I am beelining a wonder & i don't get it then sometimes I save & quit. I just loose interest when that happens & play something else for few minutes. Then come back to ciV.

I invade.
