How devastating is it when you get beat to a wonder by a couple of turns?

I invade.

I second this motion.

"The great pyramids have been built in Moscow!"
"WHAT!?!?!!!:pissed: But one turn ONE FREAKING TURN!"
A few dozen turns and many russians later...
"The Russian civilization has been destroyed!"
"And now we will just switch to representation and-"
"The Hagia Sofia has been built in Bibracte!"
":twitch: Oh look I have a stack of Cataphracts. Now where should I put them?"

very situational... it can be heartbreaking (particularly if a GE is involved), or it could be an "oh well..."

the worst is when your entire game strategy is focused on that wonder...say Sistine or Christo for a culture win.

In multiplayer, if someone build a wonder just before me AND he is a neighbor(highly probable in ancient/classical era), i use the failed gold and upgrades/buy units and rush him ASAP. :aargh:

A few turns before: pretty annoyed, but hey, that's life.
One turn before: furious.
Same turn: rage quit!

Last game I played I just lost a hard-build of PT on the same turn and tossed the game, I was so annoyed. Just ruined it.
