I just created a 10 gig partition so I could play Civ V. I forgot how big Vista was and didn't realize how big Civ V is. Vista used up almost 9 gig and Steam is saying that Civ V requires 8 gig. Is it possible to increase the size of my partition without having to erase it and start all over?

I did some google searches, but everything I found was from between 2006 and 2008.

You can change the partitioning on a Mac disk using /Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility. Select the drive, and click the 'Partition' tab. Then use the graphic to drag the split lines around.

I don't know whether you can use it to change the BootCamp partition. I suspect you'd have to change the partitioning first, then use some Windows magic to tell Windows to use the extra space.

I run in Parallels. I needed more space for Civ5 as well. It took a couple of minutes - shut down my Windows VM; slid the disk space slider up in the VM Settings; Restarted the VM; then restarted it again because Windows decided it had found new hardware. Done. Now downloading the demo.

After further consideration of my needs, I'm just going to remove and recreate the partition.

I never could get Parallels 4 to work correctly with :civ4:. My SG games either wouldn't load, or would freeze up, so I just removed Parallels 4.

Demo runs OK here in Parallels 6. It's a little slow to redraw terrain hexes when scrolling, but as I'm only using it for support, not to play in anger, it works well enough for me.
