How do you upgrade units in an Army?

that's the only question I have other than how come some times when I negotiate with other civs, they don't show as having any resourses or luxuries, is it because everything they have I already got?

You can't upgrade units in an army. They can get promoted to elite but also can not generate great leaders, so I don't load elites in.

And yes, it only shows things you may have they don't (and vice versa) even if you only have one and can't trade it.

All reasons why armies are not worth building, and why the game needs MILITARY leaders who can effect combat.

sabo10, don't let Zouave scare you away from armies, at least not from the first in every game, and then those you build with the Military Academy.

If you do a search for the key words "Army" "guide" I think you'l, find a thread that will give you ideas on how to use one effectively, even if leaders No. 2 to last are better used on wonders.

There was bug in 1.17 that allowed unloading of armies, it's gone nowand that makes a bit of sense. Otherwise, if you can recycle armies, you get much of a military advantage.
