I've already beaten the game once achieving a tourism/cultural victory. I never found a place where I could acquire, build or purchase these unites to send into hidden sites and into antiquity sites. Am I completely blind or something? Thanks in advance.

Might want to see an optometrist - Archaeologists are unlocked at Archaeology (who would have guessed) and you can start building them from there on out

They are expended once they finish a dig site (aka one time use only, sort of like Great People and work boats) so build plenty if you that's your goal

They can only be built in a city w/ a University.

I'm amazed you won a cultural victory without ever using one. Maybe I am just unlucky. I have played 2 games so far, my first one I did little cultural stuff but it seemed like it would be a hefty task to get one.

My next game I was going for a space race but decided to dab into the cultural game during my downtime. I was able to get to influential over 2 of the remaining 4 civs. Siam was such a cultural powerhouse that I never would have been able to catch them. I am wondering how people deal with something like this. Do I have to conquer them? While influential over 2 smaller civs I was literally only exotic to them ever at the highest.

I look forward to reading some strategies for it on the forum, because it seems like a difficult victory to me.

I'm in the same boat with Rome. I'm planning to conquer their capital, with a modern army upgraded with the piles of gold I got from a very lucky starting position (oases, flood plains) with the Shoshone. (I never had to use any trade routes for gold, so I could use them to build big cities.) Hopefully that will take their culture generation down a few notches.

BTW, I can't figure out how to move artworks around to get the theming bonuses. There just doesn't seem to be any interface for that. Click, drag, nothing works. What am I missing?

Go to the "your culture" screen on the culture menu. Click on a great work that is in a slot and it will hilight yellow. Now click an open spot.

Done.
