I am going to be on Prince (I fail at king, and I'll try prince because I have no idea about the new stuff working and stuff, need to try it out), some revamped civ (me) + all new and other revamped civs. Going to try a cultural, but I am not sure yet. I won't play as any of the new ones first, though. (I want to see these leader-screens!)

What about you, CivFanatics?

Also, are you going to download BNW as soon as it releases? If not, when then?

First of all, BNW will download the moment it becomes available, you have your internet active and you have your PC on and booted to desktop, there's no other way around.

Second of all, my first game will be as France going for Freedom Cultural Victory, on Pangea, 10 players (me against the 9 new civs), Quick, Warlord and just have a blast playing the game. I've managed to get rid of my typical start game (rush for Library and Pyramids wonders) and can actually built other stuff and expand quicker. so Yaay.

Somewhat related question: Does anyone know if BNW will be available for a pre-download?

Me and my friends are getting together to try out the expansion on the 8th and it would be nice if we could download it ahead of time since none of us have good enough internet for us to download it all at once.

The game comes out on the 9th, not the 8th. So you missed it by a day. And no, it won't, it's too complicate dI think, it isn't a seperate application but a bunch of files in a folder under the DLC folder, however, it will be available for download immediately at about 00:00 Midnight of the 9th, so you can technically download it befor eyou go to sleep.

I meant that one of our possible plans was to all pre-download the game and start playing it the moment it unlocks at 23:00(our time zone). I'm sure we can all wait another day though.

Poland going for a domination game with all their old enemies:

Germany
Russia catherine the great
austria
ottomans
Arabia( islamatic people)

23:00? That's damn lucky. I have it at 2 AM on July 9 (or 10? does anybody know whether it's at midnight of 8 to 9 or 9 to 10?)

Yeah, but I meant that not everyone will obviously leave it on to download, so just asked that. And yup, most likely going to play as France, too.

That is a good point you guys bring up about Midnight. So is it 00:00 Eastern time (because firaxis building is on the east coast?), meaning pacific time zoners get it at 9pm? Or is it a steam controlled thing that could mean it's pacific? I'm sure there are some more hardcore steam gamers around that could make an educated guess from prior games yea?

I'm thinking I will play a tall Venice game using the extra trade routes to make Venice super huge with domestic but still having enough to do international for gold. Wonder spam a bit culture victory.
Hmm Emperor probably.
With all of the new civs as opponents.
