FYI it takes the average person 7 minutes. Obviously no one keeps track and i would assume everyone has a slightly inflated idea because it probably seems longer than it really is

stemming from the what do you think about before you fall asleep thread

10-20. I try to go to sleep on weekdays when I'm not tired, so that may be a factor. 1st vote!

Not so easy to say. Sometimes almost immediately, sometimes it takes 2 hour. Depends on how long I slept the night before.

You cant vote multiple times? It varies depending on if i read a good book first or not... If i do a few minutes if i dont anywhere up to 2 hours

Usually less than 7 minutes, because I tend to go to sleep when I'm really tired, not when it's a specific time. From time to time, it takes me 20 minutes or more, but those occasions only happen about once a month.

If I go to sleep at 11 or so, then it takes about 20 minutes, if I talk to my gf until 3 in the morning, then almost immediatley.

Three hours on a long day, in which I get a lot of storywriting done, maybe 10-20 minutes on a tiring day.

30 - 45 minutes. Sometimes less, sometimes more.

Varies too much to allow me to chose a particular answer.

Usually, between 10-15 minutes (if I'm tired and with an empty mind) and 45 mn-1 hour (if I've a lot of thought swirling in my head).

On average, 30 to 35 minutes, but it can be as quick as 5, and as slow as 2 hours or more.

Varies...it can be as soon as the head hits the pillow or it can take hour upon hour.

It all depends on how tired I am, my state of mind, the temperature of the room, whether I have to get up in a few hours or the bed I'm in. How I wish I could press a button a go to sleep, my life would be so much better then...hmm, sleeping pills...

The older I get however, the MORE I can't do without a good nights sleep (I'm 23), before I could go days without...now I can't be bothered doing that to myself.

As the poll didn't have the appropriate options...my vote went with the beloved Radioactive monkey :D

Ironic that this thread happens to appear right now. I'm in bed since 21.00 (it's 1.00 now) and I've been trying to get to sleep till about 20 mins ago.
Usually I need at least an hour to get to sleep and another hour to get out of bed in the mornings.

Often more than an hour. This is especially problematic during the semester because my brain is usually going at Warp 9 thinking about some problem I haven't solved.

Ususally more than an hour. My sleep habits are awful.
