How many games have you played?

Okay...I'm curious to know who has the most notches on their belt. Try to go about this as scientificly as possible (look at your HoF screen)....don't just post: "man...I've played thousands of Huge map games on diety and have never lost once".

So how many COMPLETE games have you played? And what is your approx. win/loss record?

I've played about 7 games through to the end, and have lost 2 of them. All but a couple of the games were on Regent and Monarchy.

Special bonus to the person who has played the most complete games on Chieftain!

I reckon I must have started a few dozen games on Civ II, and finished fewer than half a dozen.

As for Civ III, I have started about 10, three of which are nearing completion - i.e. just a matter of 'cleaning' the map of the other civs. The other games got left sometime in the Modern Age. Haven't played seriously higher than Regent, so haven't lost any yet.

I've won one on Chieftain (the second I played, I think)

Total? Played lots to winning position then didnt finish.

I've got 39 finished games in my HOF file! Most on Regent / Monarch. 3 on Emperor , 1 on deity (GOTM)

Win about 90% on Regent / 75% on Monarch / 2 out of 3 on Emperor and lost hideously on GOTM deity.

around 60or so, regent and up, that i finished (I love tiny maps)..... won almost all, too - am better at war than AIs.....

60 games competed!! Good lord. They should put a timer in the game to show how much time you've spent playing.

SirJethro: try tiny map, 16 civs.... over in 1 hour or so if you conquer them all.....

First, in response to the tiny map fiasco - I wonder how this works for the AI? Does the AI know that it is on a tiny map and play differently? Certainly on a larger map the emphasis moves closer to the build side after the continent/land mass has been cleared of enemy civs. The player would know this and have an idea of when to switch from the war stage to the build stage. I wonder if the AI knows this?

Anyway, I've finished three games total - all wins. I've played several games to a point of certain victory.

Heres another question: Does anyone save, then retire to see how they are doing overall? I do that occasionally - taking care not to look at the map. If I'm way behind, usually I will start over.

Sometimes I'll start a game knowing that I won't complete it (say when I've got about an hour to kill before I go out to a movie or something). These I'll quit no matter how good I'm doing.

Let's say 20 games to completion (victory or 2050 ad). All on chieftan level, and all playing as thew Romans.

I used to do that, then I figured out that I could look at the histograph by hitting the H icon on the lower right of the screen. You can also look at some stats by hitting F11 or some high F key like that. (I forget)


Also, I finished about 8 to 10 games. Some Chieftain, some Warlord, some Regent and now Monarch. I have yet to see Stealth, Helicoptors, Radar Artillery, and Paratroopers. Maybe in Emperor I get the techs fast enough.

SirJethro, I like the clock idea. Hmmm, x hours times $5... if only I had been working at Target all that time.

I've got 37 games in my HOF, of those, I've finished 8, winning 7 losing 1(darn diplo victory....). I get bored if I get too far ahead or if the map is just dull and I retire.

13 games completed. If I'm losing or not winning by a lot, I usually quit at some point. I'm a sore loser, so avoid it.

In my HOF --- 25 completed games (22 wins - 3 defeats).

Chieftain --- 4 completed.

Warlord --- 15 completed (3 UN defeats).

Regent --- 5 completed.

Monarch --- 1 completed.

Emperor --- zero.

Deity --- zero.

I have played continuously since I got this game for Christmas. Being retired I have all sorts of time to play constructive warfare.
I have played Warlord 10,000 pts+, Regent 12,000 pts + and am now trying Monarch.
I don't know how to lose because, unlike some masochists out there, though I admire your stuborness, bad starting positions like tundra at Deity level (LOL) lead to the escape key. (tip of the hat to those who like that challenge.)
Sorry I did spend 5 weeks away from the computer to cruise the warm Carib...
10 hours a day is about average for game playing
