At least he use the word ancient and not antediluvian, predecessor, forerunners, obsolete, primordial, those who came before us. ;)

venerable would be a good one.

Started playing the Sid Meier franshise since Colonization which was damn good back then. Played a little of good old atari console.

Hmm..read the whole thread and I gather the oldest is 59, unless I missed someone.

I'm 21.

My dad is 68 and plays on Team K.I.S.S.

Another Ancient one here, LOL! I celebrated my half century on this earth in March. ;) My eldest son will be 22 years old next month - he introduced me to Civ a few years ago and I think I have probably notched up more hours and game experience than he ever has (he's a stick-in-the-mud Civ II man, but I think the truth is he's scared of taking up the gauntlet against his mum with a newer version, lol!).

PS. No offence taken here at the 'ancient' category, BTW. I don't mind being one of the forum elders at all, it's quite amusing & refreshing to see the diverse age range here. ;)

It would be funny to have you, me and other grey panthers, play multiplayer vs that 13 year old who posted the "get a date" remark. And have him finish dead last. :D

I'm 13, and I feel sorry for anyone over 20 that plays civ. Really, GET A LIFE PEOPLE. If you stopped playing civ maybe you could get a date.

I had a life, didn't like it, so I decided that thinking about and playing games 24/7 would be a good alternative.

Indeed! Ah, the innocence of youth, eh? ;)

Oh, and to a previous poster - don't assume you men have the monopoly on grumpiness, I am quite happy to wear my "Grumpy Old Woman" badge with pride, you know. hee hee. I can't wait until I'm 80 and can be openly rude to people with impunity.

18 in 8 days, I'll wait until then to vote :P

Hunh. Kids these days. No sense of responsibility. I didn't lollygag around and wait until I was 18 to start voting! No, sir! I voted at 17.

(No, I didn't cheat...it was a loophole based on the fact that my birthday fell between the primary and the general election. They decided it made more sense to let me vote in both. Especially since that way I'd finally leave them alone. :) )

And I had to walk three miles in the snow to go vote. Uphill. Both ways. With no shoes. And I had to bring my own quill and fashion it into a pen myself and trade my only coat for some ink to dip it in and...

(slaps self) Sorry. Okay, I'm better now. Sorry.

Ah, the yutes;) of today. According to the poll (and my 13 year old son), I will be ancient next year, but I still play Civ. Against him also!

I've been playing the Sid series since Colonization. Before that, programming my, 40 character screen, VIC 20. Ah the days.

Yes, you can play games and have a life. Just after that one more turn. ;)

At 30 years and 6 weeks old I refuse to be lumped in with 40 year olds so I'm not voting.

I'm 46. I have a life. I've had lots of dates. Also a wife, two kids, a good job, a fine house and a nice car. So I'm grown up now (sort of) and I can do whatever I want with my time, thank you.

I'm glad to see I'm not the oldest one here. I also play MMOGs a lot, and I defenitely fall into the "ancient" category in that crowd. I once told someone in-game how old I was, and the response was: "... dude... you're older than my dad."

For a computer game, I think it's pretty significant that 44 per cent of the respondents are 30 or over. I'll bet that we'd see the opposite if this were an RTS or FPS game.

I'm six squared. Started gaming in the 70s on a proprietary console that no one knows any more, switched to the famed Atari VCS soon after. Proceeded through C64 and Atari ST until I bought my first PC in 1991 for - you guessed it - Civilization. Played every Civ or Sid game since then.

10 characatures!

I think there's space for a couple of categories above 40  But even then I'd be in the one at the bottom of the list

Life begins at 4:00 am, right after I roll over the next AI city ....
