I'm a little lost on how to add Austria. I know how to add a Civ, but where do I add all of Austria's stats and UU that came with the game? Or do I have to put them in by hand?

As far as I know, you have to add them by hand. Off the top of my head, here are the things to do:

Open up two editor windows, one for your new Austria mod and one for the Napoleon scenario(Or any scenario with Austria in it).

Add the civ, filling in all the blanks with whatever is in the Napoleon civ, or changing what you want.

Add the Hussar unit. I think it is supposed to be 7-3-3 with a cost of 80.

Cut and paste the civilopedia entry for the civ and the UU from the Napoleonic scenario folder into the civilopedia in your Austria mod.

Add the Pediaicons for the civ and the UU(Hussar).

Add the leaderhead flc's.

Add the civ in 'Scenario Properties' screen in the editor.

I think that's all you have to do.

I thought they said Austria was a pre-made civ, and all you have to do is replace one?

That sounds like alot of work, stonesfan, and it seemed all they added was the Hussar graphic and that's it.

They made the Hussar, and the leaderhead. I also assume they made some sort of city list for them. (I don't remember, this is also very easy)

You would think that they could have made it possible to have no limit to the number of selectable CIVs. They could have kept the limit of the number playable at one time to 31, but the number you could select from could be greater than 31.

Is it because they would have a problem displaying the selectable CIVs on the selection screen or some other reason like the limit is hardcoded to 32 (including Barbs). 5 bits seems like an odd limit.

Or maybe it is a management issue in the code.

Nope!

I did everything you said, and I got a "Load Error, File not found 'art/advisors/austrian_all.pcx' game will now exit."

ugh

That file is not called that then. I highly suspect it's called x2_Charles_V advisor.pcx
You should be able to link to it by typing
..\Conquests\Middle Ages\Art\Advisors\x2_Charles_V advisor.pcx in the pediaicons.txt

Or you could just link it to the ..Conquests/Art/Leaderheads/x2 Charles_V advisor.pcx file
