How to add new assets, step by step

For some building I grabbed, in the HeightSplat, the SplatHeightDefault material has its height map set to Hills_Height_01_HDR.
Ah ok, i will try this heightmap then, hoping that it will do the trick. Have a nice weekend.

EDIT: Here are two screenshots of the custom building, in the actual game. Previously i tested the building only in the Map Editor.

Here is the building on flat terrain:

And here on hills terrain:

This is without heightmap etc. The building seems to react automatically to the terrain height, even without the heightmap.
With heightmap etc. i managed to have the planes invisible in the Map Editor, but still they are visible ingame... strange enough.

On the screenshots, without heightmap etc. two problems remain. The clutter is annoying, and the building is too deep in the ground on flat terrain, and too high out of the ground on hills terrain.

Maybe with time i'll find a solution.

The map editor is hard to use and has a different renderer so I'm not too surprised if things show differently there than in-game. It's not even supposed to be used for placing any buildings.

That explains it. I thought the testing would be quicker in the map editor, but then i have to test the buildings ingame.

Just wanted to say, i‘ll upload the demo mod asap, only 2 units and 1 building left to do. :)
Still working on it.

I see it's been a while since you've posted, but I just wanted to ask—has anyone tried adding new leader assets recently using the current version of ModBuddy and Assets Editor? I'm running into some weird issues with DDS textures not showing up properly in-game, even though they look fine in the editor. Would love to hear if someone cracked this or found a workaround.

This here is the forum for the game „Old World“ by Mohawk Games. Not for Civ6. Anyways, your texture problem could be due to wrong compression…
save your textures in .tga format and let Asset Editor do the conversion to .dds
This has always worked for me. :)

PS: Also use the correct Preset in Asset Editor - there is one for the base color for units, and one for the base color for leaders, etc.
