How to automate techs?

Okay, this game is amazing :P

But one question, say I'm researching say a 30-100 turn tech, my people are gathering resources, and I'm invurnable to attack? Is there anyway for it to skip rounds instead of holding enter (or +shift) with the chance of skipping a dialogue/offer ? I just don't know what to do during those times

Thanks :P

PS: If you need clarification I will re-explain

I think if you go to your Science advisor screen and click on a tech that is a few techs down the line then it'll automatically research the ones you need for it. Is that what you meant?

If it's a way to get out of the pressing enter after each turn that you do nothing, I don't think it can be done. Though you shouldn't really ever have many turns where you don't do anything, no matter how small it might seem. And 30-100 turns seems a bit long for any tech to me.

Also, I'm guessing this probably should go in the General Discussions forum.

Thanks for the advice, but what I mean is sometimes theres like "downtime" where I'm researching for a tech, but nothing else, so I have to mash enter so I can move forward. And yes if you move very fast I've seen researching pyrmids for 140 turns, but I wait till it gets lower. 20 Seems to be the usual but the one's I need are 30's.
I just don't like the fact that the turn based part is so unbalanced, I'm constantly waiting for techs to finish instead of building stuff.

There's no way that I know of to skip out turns, and I'm not sure it can be modded in. If you're getting a lot of downtime that bores you then you might be better off playing on the quick speed game. I've never known more than a few turns go by without something happening with that speed. Since the whole game has fewer turns then there'l be a lot less pressing enter, so it's sort of what you're asking for.

Kthankz, I did one on quick, but once I saw 300 turns even to build a pyrmid XD. AND IT WAS ON QUICK! Well I suck at this game I practically give up, I had 1000 points and the other teams had 2200...

Would deselecting "Wait at end of turn" in the options menu remedy this?

You should understand that your cities will grow. It maybe 300 turns for a population 1 city, as it grows and you have more of your population working on production that number will go down fast. A city sized 4 maybe only 30 turns to build the pyramids. Your issue isnt technical, I think its just not understanding core game concepts.

Yes I understand that
The thing I don't understand is how the computer makes their city grow so fat? Is there something I mgiht not know?

Also to finish the pyramid thing, it was just weird that with my main city had the 300 turn thing. The point is normally in real life a civ wouldn't advance that fast. Never mind, drop the subject :P
Buy how do the Computers have machine guns when I'm only at galleons ?

If you're playing on a higher difficulty level (above noble), the computer DOES "cheat". Meaning tech advances and buildings cost less for the AI than they do for you, I believe AI cities grow faster for the same reason.
