How to build a spaceship?

I have discovered all the sciences required to build spaceship parts, however,
I do not have the option to build any of the parts in my cities. All I have are the usual units, wonders, and buildings. Am I missing something?

I'm guessing you need to build the Apollo Program.

I would say you need to research rocketry but that's obviously a pre-requisite for every other space ship tech/component.

I'm stumped at the moment.

You might need aluminum or something.

Aluminum only makes spaceship production faster. You probably just need to build the Apollo Program.

Are you playing a custom game? If so, you may have switched off the Space Race victory by accident, in which case, none of the parts would be available.

Yeah, the first time I disabled the space program for a custom game, it threw me off by the time I got to that stage, as I wondered why I didn't get any of the options.

On a related note, McGuyver can build a spaceship out of a ball of yarn, some gum and a paper clip.

I just conquered the world, so I'll aim towards space during my next game.
