How to change a conservative's mind?

No liberal on this forum has acted mature enough (You making this post is living and breathing proof) to convince me of anything. Your whole argument is flawed, you say that people who like Bush are essentially morons, and expect us to change your mind to agree with your beliefs?

Fortunately, I'm not a liberal. Was when I was younger, yes, but I quit that a long time ago.

What I was stating was changing your mind not to agree with my beliefs, but to change your opinions when proof contradicts your own beliefs.

What you are looking for is maturity. It is not limited to specific groups of people, or to certain political parties. Some people never get it. And there's really nothing you can do about that.

Well, in my experience, what liberals regard as "proof" is merely repeating a presumption of guilt... especially on the internet.

Actual evidence and a logical argument which does not require the conclusion to be considered true as an assumption will go a long way.

No, you are playing dumb, because you know there is nothing forbidding 'gays' to get married just as 'straight' people do, which is equal protection under the law.

The only problem is when 'gays' demand unique extra protection in allowing themselves to get married to someone of the same sex, which 'straight' people are not allowed to do either.

Wouldn't the law grant straight people the same option to marry someone of their gender?

it would indeed, just as now it allows homosexuals to marry someone of the opposite gender. Actually, like I said, the law allows anyone to marry anyone else as long as neither of them are already married, but same-sex marriages get no recognition from the government. That's why I say "same-sex" instead of "homosexual" marriages; the law is concerned not with the orientation but with the genders of those involved.
