My computer would start and restart over and over while playing Civ4. I deleted Civ4 and have my computer stable again I hope. I think this could be a memory problem. Not having a lot of computer knowledge I was wodering if there is a way to check the memory or diagnose it somehow. Mike

My favorite tool for memory testing is MemTest86+, a free tool.

http://www.memtest.com

Download the pre-built ISO and burn it off to a CD, then boot from that CD. Let it run for one pass and see if it says anything about errors. If the error count shows anything (and it gives info in the text area too) then you need to replace it.

Frankly, I've found a full run of memtest to find things the hardware-based testers at some computer shops can't see. If memtest runs clean, I consider it good.

Don't forget that high CPU temp can cause reboots and such also, it might be a good idea to check your temp and clean out your fans, etc.
