How to disable intro movie?

Am sure this has been posted before but quick search didn't bring anything up.

Have re-installed and can't remember the ini entry required to disable the intro movie.

Which file do you put this entry into?

I have put it in the bottom of the Civilization3.ini, but it has had no effect.

Grayarea: it depends on what you are plaing. For the basic Civ3 game, the file is civilization.ini. for PTW, it is ptw.ini. For Conquests, it is (what else?) conquests.ini.


Edit: I think this might have been added in a patch, though, so the original, unpatched Civ3 might not recognize it.

Also, if there isn't the give '.ini. file, you might need to create it yourself (just a plain text file).

The game should create the appropriate file the first time it is run.

Is there a command line for turn the gridmap on automatically?

If you have Conquests, you can try editing/adding the line "GridOn=1". It says whether the grid was on in the last (current) game.

I am using CivIII 1.27 and adding this line to the ini file has had no effect. I assume this was added in PTW onwards then?

It did not work for me either. I have all 3 versions.

Well, it was just a thought. It is described as a flag to say whether the grid was on during the last session. I was hoping it would say that you want it on for *this* session, too. It's the closest flag I've been able to find.

Grayarea: I *think* it was added in Conquests.
