How to disable Science victory in-game?

I want to fight Napoleon to the death...I don't want him to build the spaceship. How do I disable the space victory then?

Sack his capital. Edit: lol, no.

Nope, he'll "magically" transfer the Launch Pad in another city once the Palace has been rebuilt!
Can't be turned off within gameplay.

I'm sure you could turn it off somehow if you tried hard enough - hack the save game file or even directly edit the game database once the game was loaded...

or just accept the loss hit "just one more turn" and strike down apon you foe with great vengence and furious anger etc

Yeah, I guess I'll just do that.

Speaking of the save file, I once tried to up the difficulty in-game by modifying it...but it only resulted in a crash. I don't want to try it again.
