Yes, the AI is broken
Yes, you can play a peaceful game with the currently broken AI because it's not random even though it's broken.
THERE, BOTH OF YOU HAPPY?
Yeah thats the excuse for the ai acting crazy its being deceptive, give me a break here is another example of the ai needing to be fixed.
Check out the chart - each civ has a rating for deceptiveness written into the program. So it's kind of silly to claim the AIs are never deceptive.
I think its silly to defend a borken ai by saying oh its supposed to do that even though it makes no sense.

Now, a question for you other peace-mongers in this thread: What is your favorite civ for a peaceful game? Personally I prefer Babylon + India. I have been trying some others, and for an early war but 90% peaceful game Rome is a really strong contender. "Glory of Rome" is really nice for getting a smallish empire (say 5-6 cities) quickly built up and productive.
What's your favorite?
Most excellent post, my friend. Nothing much to add to that.Listen, this has been a common fallacy throughout human history.
Just because you do not understand it does not mean it makes no sense.
Sometimes people do deceptive things. The AI was designed to reflect that. Proof of such design intention has been presented to you. It is INTENTIONAL.
What is silly, is being unable to concede that you may have been wrong... or not fully understand something, instead continuing to put your fingers in your ears and say "lalalala".
But again, the thread was "How to live in peace?", and we are trying to help the OP understand how - since we have DONE IT, and can REPEAT IT almost at will. All you have done is whine and repeat things you must have heard somewhere, because they are either blatantly incorrect, lacking an actual point, or irrelevant to the OPs question.

if anyone is putting there fingers in there ears and going lalala its you guys.
its fine to have a sneak attack every once in a while but not by so many ais all the time there are only so many hitlers out there.
The AI has enough problems without us adding facetious ones that aren't even issues.
Another post here describes how liberating cities does not result in immediate positive diplomatic relations... that, in my opinion, is an honest to goodness issue. It just is. If I were trying to say "diplomacy rocks, it is flawless!" then I would be a fool, but I am not.
What I, and others here are saying... is that diplomacy is nowhere near as bad as you make it out to be. We are saying... if you would pay closer attention to the game, and have a little (just a little) faith... you might see that YOU can resolve SOME of these Hitler problems.
But, I know you will not read and comprehend this stuff. I also know a Moderator is watching this thread (among many, I'm sure) - and I don't want to lose a thread full of good peaceful strategic advice to the trolling of one unsatisfied customer. So, this is the last time I will respond to you. Please take a step back and THINK critically.
"Five percent of the people think; ten percent of the people think they think; and the other eighty-five percent would rather die than think." - Thomas A. Edison
So now anyone that disagrees with you about the ai is trolling? I dont think so the ai is broken and it needs to be fixed I have been in the other thread as you stated and gave citys back to china I had liberated upon the next turn they hate me. In another game I had a civ go from freindly to declare war on me the next turn this is broken.

Stealing CS from other civs is a surefire way to piss them off. Would it piss you off?
