Hi everyone, I recently bough Civ III, I visited the www.civ3.com website and I tried to dowload the Map of WWII europe but when It asked me to save it I did that under my documents and how do i play that map??? it didnt work :scan: How do I save a map from the internet civ3.com and play it>???/ can anyone help me???/

You want to save the map into C:/Program Files/Infogrames Interactive/Civilization III/Scenarios/. Then, when you load Civ, select "Scenarios", and you'll see your map.

(Do you have an expansion pack, or just the regular game?)

edit: Crosspost with Willem.

You have to put it in the Scenarios folder of the most recent expansion you have. Then when you start the game, look for something like Civ Content. That's what it's called in Conquest at any rate. You'll find the map in there, so you just have to select it.

i download it to my desktop and then i put it in my scenarios folder... works for me anyways

K , well i have the civ 3 complete, and well ive tried putting it on the scenarios folder but it doesnt appear on the game, its a zipped file do i need the zip program?
im so confused, ???

If it is zipped, you'll need WinZip to unzip it. Then, since you have Complete, you'll actually want to put it in C:/Program Files/Atari*/Civilization III/Conquests/Scenarios/ (it should be a .biq file).

*It might be Infogrames Interactive, but I'm pretty sure it's Atari. Then, when you load Complete, select "Civ-Content" and your scenario.

use a program called POWER ARCHIVER 1000000% better than winzip and well if u have Xp u should already have a unzipping program built in.. I do.

ok, well im dowloading winzip as I type this message, however, i tried what cidknee told to dowload to desktop and then to scenarios and it transfered it to civ-content so i guess somehow it worked, the problem now is that when i open the map there is only one nation to choose??? i guess i have to go to the civ III editor now right???

could also be the map.

In the Civ3 Editor (which you can get to by double clicking your scenario), go to the Scenario, and then Scenario Properties screen. You should see a list of civilizations in a menu; click the top one, scroll to the bottom, hold down shift, and click again. All the civilizations should now be selected and playable.

I give up I have to admit!! canada dry or someone ??? any of u live in the U.s and i can call u on the phone so u can help me???

what i did was save the map to my desktop then i move it to scenarios, then i go to the game open civ-content and i see my map but when i click on it i find my map has one nation only and some rule already made for it, when i try to modify my map in the editor, it doesnt appear there????

make sure its in the correct scenarios folder, theres different ones for vanilla and conquests.
make sure its unzipped and yes post it..im sure someone can fix it.

hi everyone again, i was able to dowload the map and play it, Im playing for Spain but one thing i want to know is how come i cant view my cities??? like view them from an birdeye view???/ i played it from civ-content ??????

You can only use that birds-eye view (the aerial view) for the normal, epic game in Conquests, sorry. So it's not a bug, and you can't fix it. Glad to see the map is working! :)

k how can i change the name of a leader?? i m playing a map from the internet and the name of the queen of spain is HITLER!! how can i change that???
thank you

iirc in conquests theres abc button on the unit you would use to rename it. If u are using vanilla i think u might have to do it in the editor or not at all.
