[HowTo] Play "Yet (not) Another Earth Map Pack" with CPP

Great stuff guys. I have ynaemp and vp working together. I've found that jfd's america and japan broke the setup screen though.

Is there a way to make the YNAEMP as a modpack? I've tried but there is no "custom game" option.

You cannot use YNAEMP as it is build in multiplayer. You need it converted to a .lua file with: https://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/civ5map-to-lua-script-tools.504715/.

It does not however match VP balance (e.g. start with Pathfinder). I have been working on modifying the .lua, so that feature and resource generation are dynamically done on creation instead of static of the above file. I have also corrected the starting units to account for VP changes. My most recent tests were haulted however by a bug in VP (#4341), which has since been fixed. I plan on finishing the map and releasing when I'm near completed with my current multiplayer game, as it will be our next map.

BUT: On every map, there are absolutely no ressources placed.

Also: The TSL doesnt work for me since its all random, no matter which settings i chose

Does anyone know, how to fix it and/or what i have to do to make the resources appear?

My friend had that problem, his Civ5 is outdated.

It's awesome that you guys were able to make ynaemp work for VP that was amazing and you guys have been busy fixing all the placement issues such as the resource one

But every time I start a game that isn't the full world map (e.g. Europe map, Asia map etc), the game would spawn city states not from the region and don't give them a settler, so they would just be a wandering warrior.
I've tried limiting the number of city states from spawning and also making it TSL for city states, but it will always happen.
Sometimes the city state not from the region will also kick a city state that truly belongs to that region and the city state will go to the ocean (Riga in Europe (Atlantic) will get moved to the middle of the Atlantic ocean due to another city state warrior spawning near its TSL).

Does anyone know how to fix this, as I think it's something on my end? If not I hope it would be fixed?

My friend had that problem, his Civ5 is outdated.

I'm having the same problem with 1.0.3.279 - It's not just that Civ5 is outdated.

It *also* occurs with YNAEMP on its own. And I just located the issue- it's with the change you need to make to ynaemloading.lua. DO NOT replace all of the text in the second box with the first box, you need to keep the 'return true' line.
 
Hello everyone, I play with version 24 of the map and I managed to solve the problems of resources and placement of civilizations thanks to your help.

Now I would have liked to know if ,according to you,the placement of resources is logical (coffee in Russia?).

Plus, I have a graphic concerns that just appeared and I would like to know if it is related to the map?

I’m pretty sure the graphics is related either to the map or to combining the map and VP- I’ve got the same graphics issues.
 
YnAEMP v24 still works with the current version of Vox Populi (12.18.1). If you follow the instructions in the first post or download the file from wkey (page 6), a game should be possible.

However, I edited my original post because the formatting got lost over time (forum moved).
 
Is anyone having a problem with resoruces like bison and wine ? I can't find any single one of these. Also sheeps and wheat are toooooooooo few and i play giant earth,marathon,abundant resources.
 
I tried the new v25 and still there are very few sheeps,wheat and no bison and wine resource.
 
Do you play with "No Resource Scaling" checked? Cause that limits the amount of each type of resource in the map

Of course, that probably only affects luxury resources. Bonus ones like wheat, bison, and sheep not appearing much is strange. I guess those are limited since the map has to generate so much stuff as is
 
No. I don't play with "No resource Scaling". They appear if i add them with Realy Advanced Setup to the map.
 
I think they're based on the map script.
