In debt to Mr. Geisel
ok, here's the 670AD save
Preflight check: Moscow now up to pop 7, good! Now we can have a real disaster! There's a carthage worker clearing wetlands due in 41T, guess he's gonna be there a while, stop him and move him to south of Leptis Magna to see if I can't get a road connected to Arabia. Tax starve koreans in pyongyang, wonsan, hyangsang. We are now +16gpt; Arabia has about 8 units in a threatening location, south of Theveste. They never move during all 10 of my turns. guess they got nothin' better to do.
IBT: Korea settles a town on the west coast
T1: 580AD
bunch of crusaders auto move (there are so many units right now that I am happy this happened
; 1 knight dies at Pyongsong without killing anything; MM Kazan off fp onto gem mountain; Sumeria, Arabia up Printing Press; Position a bunch of elite knights around Cheju
Trades: Sumeria: get 13gpt for dyes
T2: 590AD
Vlad riots due to pop; 3 workers join Novgorod (leo's goes from 23T to 17T @ 20spt);
Battles: 3 elite wins @ Cheju and it's ours but no MGL
; 2 knights die @ pyongsong killing nothing! Destroy new west coast city with 1 knight. Knights move into position around Pusan.
T3: 600AD
Move knights in on Pusan, killing 1 longbow as we go. Otherwise, it's mosquitos and ticks for the knights as they crawl thru the jungle. It's amazing how crappy the AI infrastructure is around this city.
IBT: Sumeria demands iron, I tell him to go pound sand, he meekly concedes ("it's good to be the
" ) He will give us PP, 20gpt & 90g for Iron. I say "naa"
T4: 610AD
Move elites to postion around Pusan
IBT: Sumeria completes Sun's
T5: 620AD
Pusan taken, losing 1 vet knight. No MGL's from the elites
T6: 630AD
Rush Library in Pusan; holding off attacking Pyongsong till I can get some elites up there; MM slider to get +15gpt and metallurgy in 3T
Trades: Sumeria will now give us PP, Astro, 40gpt & 24g for Chems; road is finished to Arabia but they will not offer anything for gems (japan can only offer 40g) so I gift it to make sure they don't want to attack; They go from annoyed to polite
T7: 640AD
nothing, i guess. forgot to write anything down
IBT: Sumeria finishes Sistine's
T8: 650AD
elite knight attacks Pyongsang and we get MGL Ivan the Terrible!!!! [dance] 3 more vet knight attacks and we capture pyongsong; Koreans have a hide-a-way somewhere. Probably next to Hannibal. Ivan is on autopilot to Vlad to rush FP
Trades: Sumeria will now give us PP, Astro, 69gpt, 15g for Chem's but I wait. A 61gpt deal will expire in 2T so we should check then. I offer Peace to Korea and Carthage.
IBT: Arabs complete Capernicus
T9: 660AD
rush library in Pyongyang
Trades: Arabs can afford some money towards chem's but I wait
IBT: Hittites offer an alliance vs Carthage, I say "For who, for what?"
T10: 670AD
Ivan arrives in Vlad. So I switch from knight to musket and rush (due 1T), then you can rush FP with Ivan
Trades: Can trade Chem to sumeria for Astro & 107gpt. I recommend doing this so we can continue research @ 100% The Arabs can also afford a tech trade but it's worth much less.
Troops are shifting west and east. I'm trying to get as many knights as possible over to the Indian border. At the same time, muskets and pikes are moving to shore up the weak western border. The gems trade with the Arabs should placate them for a while.
