So, probably a thread to ask simple questions while we learn the game would be helpful.
I have the following one. Where can I check the total output of science and faith? In the top-right corner there is money and influence only.

Oh excited to hear how your game goes, in beta science was listed in the research tab, accessed via lower left of the screen. Was also visible in the tech tree page I believe.

I believe faith was just the numbers on each city in overlay the religion tab open. Also shows total believers.

@Taefin is correct regarding science - you see the total output when you open the science tab in the lower left.
Regarding faith, I don't think there is a total that you can see anywhere, but it's also not too relevant a number. If you go to the religion view and click on a city you see how much faith it produces. But output and impact are only the same for this very city. Faith is more impactful the closer it is "produced" to a certain city. Here's an example screenshot with the tooltip:

My impression was that the proportion of faith coming from neighboring cities from each religion dictates the proportion of believers that that city will gravitate toward. So holy cites, wonders, and events that boost faith will directly effect neighboring cities which will subsequently effect their neighbors. Though not sure if faith weight is given to the majority religion of the city producing it, or if the proportion of believers in that city matters too. I might be completely off base, but this generally agreed with the state of affairs when I looked during a few games.

Does the game have Sad amount of max 8 players allowed, or Acceptable amount of max 10 players allowed?

How many regions do biggest map sizes seem to consist of? I'm asking because of my will to mod a map of Earth or Europe at some point...

Acceptable amount of max 10 players. The map editor has currently a max of 8 but will be tweaked.

Something like a Huge Earth Map? :shifty:

I didn't reach a top limit on a huge map, I'm at 190+ regions including sea.

[Extremely] pretty! Though really shows the difficulty representing earth-scale land masses with the HK terrain system, where combat expects multiple tiles wide all at different elevations, while including flat bands and cliffs. No matter how much I apply my imagination, limited as it may be, the scale of HK games always feels regional, e.g., no larger than British isles or Greece. Not that 4x tiles can’t represent larger areas, or that cities need to be proportional to landmass in any way, just what the terrain feels like to me.

@Infixo no nuclear war yet?! I just assumed the game would end the same way as the beta, getting 7 era stars and telling the game I’m ahead now, I’m done. Curious to hear what you discover.

I cannot finish the game. Already at turn 301, finished the entire tech tree several turns ago, and nothing happens. How does the game end?
Did the "your journey is going to end soon" popup happen at some point? Or not even that?

This is the very first time I am playing, so I cannot compare.
The manual (and in-game encyclopedia) says that the game ends after a specific number of turns, depending on the chosen speen. On Normal it is 300, and I am playing on normal. In this scenario the one with the most fame wins. I suppose this is an equivalent of "score victory" in civ.
The game can finish earlier when one of the following conditions happens:
- earn all stars in the last era
- finish the tech tree
- eliminate everyone (= dom victory in civ)
- send people for an interplanetary mission (=science victory)
- make a world uninhabitable (not sure what this is, pollution?).
I can't complete the interplametary mission due to the lack of 1 resource, so I can't test that.
Anyway, nothing about nuclear war. Maybe this is that last condition. Idk.

There's most probably something wrong with your game. There should have been popups (detailing how the game could end when you reach contemporary era) and another one shortly before it ends. So more than one trigger didn't fire. And turn 300 should have been the last one in any case. I' don't know whether you got access to the g2g Humankind bug forums when you received the build - it might be a good idea to post the issue there together with a save game.

But more/most/existentially importantly, were there airplanes?! Were they flying?

idk how quick this is, but for anyone with access right now, is there a console setting for making the whole map visible? I'd be interested in seeing what a continent looks like on the "default" sort of settings versus making everything chaotic, adding lots of lakes etc. All of the options are very cool, I just hope they make a noticeable impact.

there's a specific civic that enables extermination and there could be a workaround involving rebels to take full control of an occupied city that can lend to the same outcome but way earlier
This civic doesn‘t exist anymore. You can take anything from another player now from the start of the game, however. Just that they respawn. And if you kill the respawn, they will respawn elsewhere…

edit: seems like @lymond and I tried this in different builds. I don‘t know which way made it to the final build. Maybe the encyclopedia knows.

How do you actually eliminate a faction from the game? Last time I took all cities from a civ but it still existed in the game, with no territory.

I thought you just have to kill all their units, if you've not done so already after taking the last city. Otherwise, a civ will die on the turn after losing all their stuff.

I'm not aware of civics having anything do do with it, but maybe just not noticed that aspect. I've eliminated AIs in Ancient era with few if at any civics activated or discovered.
