Is there a decent build order for rushing with the Huns?

Obviously go for battering rams and the like quickly. Tradition or liberty? Honor seems too slow tbh.

A couple of varying strategies.

Go Horse archers first and destroy armies more efficiently and have a scout/warrior finish up the city. Once you get bronze, send 2-3 rams to join the army. Bully every city state on your way. Easier to do on multi esp if you are the Huns.

Tradition is another strat. Oddly enough its a good civ to go for the Hanging Gardens rush due to animal husbandry and production bonus from pastures. And as other players will fear your civ and take a more defensive stance, you can get an extra push on wonder building.

Or instead of taking out players, go the bully city states then take the city state afterwards method. This way odds are you get unique luxuries and always a pretty decent city.

thanks. Any other tips? I tried this last game, facerolled aztecs that dow'ed me early (just cause I was huns LOL), and I coulda taken any civ near me..

but only other ones were germans. I ended up spending half the game trying to stay afloat, I was always at around 0 gold per turn or negative (after aztecs, -30..), and unhappiness galore.

my start was: worker->monument, horse archer, got an upgraded battering ram from ruin. Got 2 horsies and a ram...

facerolled my neighbor. the ram could practically 1 hit a 3 pop city!

I had my first MP game with the Huns (still ongoing). You don't want Liberty if you have nearby cities to conquer. I went for Honor - those early Barb kills will rush you through the tree, and having to maintain a large army early stalls economic growth so the gold bonus finisher is valuable to have. You also get a Great General before your first attack, which is certainly going to help you. Most importantly, you get the production boost to melee units with your second policy, which will probably unlock in time to help with at least the second ram if not the first.

You're not going to be building Wonders early, and the immediate bonus from four monuments is less than you'll get from killing Barbarians since you'll have a big army early, so I'm not sure Tradition offers a great deal either.

My initial order was slightly different from usual (no early Monument because I wanted to get the Worker early to maximise the pasture bonus):

Scout
Worker
Monument
Battering Ram
Battering Ram
Horse Archer
Horse Archer
Granary (buying the next HA with money from bulled CSes)
Horse Archer

My initial tech order was Mining, Bronze Working, Archery, The Wheel, as getting the ram ASAP allowed me to build them while teching to HAs, then going the usual Pottery-Writing path after that.

I had the advantage that my closest neighbours were AI civs (3 humans, 3 AI in this game) who didn't put up a fight, so there were no field battles to be had. I controlled five cities and had eradicated the Americans and Celts before turn 60 (I had four cities, including the American and Celtic ones, before turn 50 - it was just a long trek to Lhasa...)
