i am really pissed...whats wrong

i have never had a problem with beyond the sword before...i just installed the new patch and the game can't even load...it keeps crashings after i double click the icon to start the game

yeaa it worked for me in normal games but i tried to do a 34civ game and it just crashed 4 times in a row.

Those are DLL mods. They need to be recompiled with the SDK. They are incompatible w/ new Patches. Everytime a patch was released for BTS, those mods had to be recompiled. If you want to run them, uninstall the patch. If you can't do that. Uninstall the game, and patch it to 3.13.

Is there some freeware file tracking software for keeping up with the changes?

I am wary of installing 3.17 for just this reason.

Very few mods use a customDLL, it adds nearly 4Megs to the download. Most large(r) mods are updated/changed graphics.

The unfortunate side for some of the older ones - they no longer have an active thread/dev - and may not get updated.

I also didn't see source included in the few custom map DLLs I looked at.

Well with as little information as that all we can do is cry with you. Did you ever install any mods? Are you using Vista?
