Well, my computer has been having HUGE problems lately. I can't uninstall or play any games that requires a CD. When I try to uninstall Civilization 3, it says that it can't extract the files because it can't find them or something like that. Any solutions to my problem?

sounds like a problem with the cd player - can you copy files etc from a cd?

What I would do is this:
If you have C3C: delete the firaxis folder along with everything in it
If you have Civilization III: PTW: Delete the Infro-active Games folder along with everything in it.
If you have Civilization III: Delete the Infro-active Games folder along with everything in it.

This way you really dont have it on you computer but it will still show in the program list. It's not really there though. Similar problems occured with Civ3: Gold edition (PTW) about five months ago. Still don't have it off.

Infogrames bought Atari, and assumed their name a few years ago. So as things were developed, they changed folder names. SHould be no problem. ;)

(And "Gold" is Civ3 Original and the Play The World (PTW) expansion, all wrapped up in a single package. But it's installation/patch behavior doesn't seem to behave as well as the separate programs. :hmm: )

Alright thx for the correction, hopefully he got what I was trying to say;) (who ever put the x-mas smilies i love them)

Yeah... My computer is just really messed up, it won't uninstall games, and it won't play games. I'm trying to unistall this game so that I can install it again to see if it starts to work.

Right about now I'm gonna say it's a problem on your end, not civs. Honestly I wouldn't know what to do with that other than suggesting calling Geek Squad:lol:

No problem, sorry I wasn't much help. Have a good christmas and a happy new year...oh and happy civ-ing:D !!
