I got a bad feeling.....

I got a bad feeling that after starting strong in the GOTM III that I will end up not finishing it again. It's due to the fact that I can play MADD CIV for several days but then I loose interest. Kind of like my Star Trek Scenario and my Terrorist scenario and newest failure...the Intergrator.

But I'm in over my head.....I play so many games online Multiplayer.....and offline, single player.....and I work, and I work around the house, and I try and play as many sports as possible......there is just no time for Civ.

And it pisses me off....I guess I'll have to buckle down and finish this one....at least for old time sakes!!!

I always had the same trouble: starting a game and then I didn't want to play any further. That way I have played so many games without finishing it.

Until the GOTM came! Then I was so inspired to finish it, I finally ended a game again (after a very long time).

I sympathise with you both! Substitute all the other non-Civ activities that I have in my life for Corn's Civ ones and it's similar for me. But I also agree with Matrix - gotta do GOTM whatever it takes! (Like 50 hours + for GOTM #2. Much less for #3)

P.S. Matrix, did you receive the GOTM #3 submission I sent you a week ago? I didn't get an acknowledgement. Maybe your email's playing silly bu**ers again.

the one single thing that drives me TOTALY MAD about cornmaster is..

HE NEVER sticks to one thing for a long time

by the time i dust of my old civ CD, and install the game, he want's to play BOTF, by the time i find that cd in a pile of cd's and install the patch he'll want to play Starfleet Command.. after sitting there waiting for the patchs to install for that (during which he'll be bugging me to get SFC2, the wrath of buggy software) after which he'll want to play HL *and soon CS as soon as i send him the cd of goodies* but after me getting fustrated on the DAM long jump, i'll quit where he'll ask to play SC out of the blue.. so after OWNING him in SC he'll quit and ask to play quake2, but after 2 hours of skrewing with the setting (and i think i know what was wrong when i was trying to host) we'll go play tanarus, but because he doesn't tell me what room he was going to be in i go play by my self and hope he finds me.. which we'll quit anyway and go play Chess where he'll deliver some l337 mad skillz on me

after which..
he'll want to play civ

and begins the cycle again!

ahhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!

I don't recall beating you in virtual chess.....but I've "Ownzered" you before in real chess.

I've also got a few killer configs for Tanarus. And I know how to capture recons now!!!! I like the Cham very much

Onboard Lancer, Stealth and Cloak. I use 3 reserve powers and a Plasma Cannon. Now that's a config!! I'll tell you my other ones tonight.

I was rocking this morning. 3 caps, 2 kills and only 4 deaths!! My lifetime record is now like 6 kills and 29 deaths

But 3 caps!

My problem is the opposite. I have limited time to play Civ (job, family, etc), but stick to a game and all the nitty gritty details until the bitter end. It has literally taken me MONTHS to finish a single game of Civ. the GOTM has actually helped me speed up my gaming a little, and I'm learning to let a game go once the outcome is really decided. While playing GOTM, that is the ONLY game I play (except for Zulu succession game, which I've played once thus far) so that have some small chance of finishing within the month. GOTM3 is basically done, though, just need to decide when to destroy that last Aztec city

Hmmm I know how you feel!!!

I'm in year 1500 AD but I can't seem to find the time to complete the game, I have a few hours now and maybe some on Sunday but that's about it......
