i have no mouse

when i start the game it givesme a mesage that ihave selected an invalid voice cap device and i also cant see my cursor for my mouse its thare but i cant see it please help me fix its annoying and i want to play but cant play the way i want to with no mouse.

you can get rid of the voice capture message by changing the setting in the civilizationIV.ini (set enablevoice = 1 to 0)
as for the mouse: do you have any mouse effects turned on? mouse trail does things like that...

The two problems are unrelated. Go to the control panel and make sure that "pointer trails" for the mouse is turned off. The voice cap thing means you either don't have a mic or it isn't switched on.
