I just lost my .civ5proj

I opened one of the communitas .civ5proj files from my desktop and I now can't find the mod I was working on. It isn't in recent mods and the open mods function now defaults to my desktop instead of the default save location. Where is the default save location as of now and does anyone have any advice for retreiving such a lost file?

I should mention that I have the latest playable build of the mod available if that can be converted to a .civ5proj in any way.

The default save location is in Documents\Firaxis ModBuddy

Whoward69 made a program that (among other things) creates a ModBuddy project from a built mod: ModTools

Just what I needed, thanks! I was actually able to find the civ5proj in the path you suggested, but that tool will be extremely useful
