I'm really pleased to see that very many people still keep on playing Civ1 or even discovering it.
You will never imagine how many people contact me each week to ask me THE question: where they can get Civ1...

Of course, I always give the same answer: I never refuse to help anybody... Guess the rest. Currently, 2 more people who emailed me for the same question.

Conclusion: I'm really famous, am I, Stormerne?

Civ1 is an important lesson that each player should learn. A game can have 2D, 16 colors graphics, no connection to the internet, and no real-time action, and still be a Great Game!

[totally off-topic, we both became members of the forum at the same month, how the hell have you posted 2000 threads since then?]

Well popular peopole can do that

Oh, anyway I have Civ 1 since 1994 (that's when I got my old PC a Compaq laptop 386 with 4MB RAM and I don't know how many MHz) but I have trouble finding Civ NET. Many peopole say it's not worth it but I'm just curious...

I've played Civ1 since 1992... Now that's pretty good when you remember by year of birth...

I just purchased the October 2001 edition of Computer Games magazine and the cover story is about "10 years of Civilization". The demo CD that came with the mag includes the complete version of Civ 1 for Windows, including a PDF file of the entire manual. Cool!

I recently "obtained" civ from a website.... can't remember the url but if you search for "abandonware" using any good search engine it'll be there... the file a laughable 2MB! One of the best games ever still...

Good that you didn't mentioned url. btw, CFC cannot tell any ways to get
abandonware, so Stormerne will propably mention this soooon.
Ooops, this reply is quite spammy. Lets talk more bulsit: ( ;) )
I actually crashed my old computer which had civ1, so I also 'obtained' it (from ####).
Unfortunatly, it doesn't work properly with Windows ME. :(

(Edit: it was quite stupid to first said that u cannot tell where you can get civ1 and
then tell where I stole Civ1)

Yep. The CFC line is that we don't support illegal software distribution and therefore do not publish the websites that deal with such distribution. I'll delete any such references and possibly recommend the culprit's account for deletion too.

Personally, I'm quite happy to pay $10 for a CD which has Civ1 AND Raliroad Tycoon AND a bunch of other stuff on it too. Civ1 hasn't been abandoned by anyone yet!

just like 2 say that I did own an original on floppy but it got corrupted and forgotten about... so nothing illegal here folks!
didn't mean to cause offense:crazyeyes
