Hi all.

As you can see by the title of the thread, I am mired in Spyware. Never before has this happened on such grand scale that it is now. I mean I am literally being swamped by dozens of spyware programs all at once. I have AOL Spyware Protect, but that only detects Spyware once it's on the computer and only then deletes it... but by that time, a lot of damage has been done already and even more Spyware creeps in!
I need a way to AVOID Spyware altogether. Is there any such program I can get off the net? Or any other way to avoid Spyware?
I appreciate any help. Even right now while I'm typing this message I'm trying to delete DownloadPlus, CashBack, SaveNow, etc.

Try getting Spybot search and destroy and do the immunise option as well as scanning. You could also try the latest Adaware version.

I recomend getting McAfee anti virus. On that you can useually scan for spyware and then delete it,it also has a good pop up blocker.

OK thanks, people, I appreciate it.
Now, to see if those programs in those links you included work with Windows 98 (I had Windows ME but had to HP-Recover my computer cuz the Spyware was literally crashing everything and the computer could hardly process things)...

They all work with 98. I used them on 98(I still have adaware SE on it even through it's not connected to the internet anymore. I still find a one or two spyware things sometimes when I update the defs file.)

since we are talking about this...how is the norton internet security firewall?

I have the ZoneAlarm CD wich I got for free subscribing to an internet bradband service. Should i use that one or the one, or the norton one? Just to be sure ;)

Norton firewall protection blows. Use Kerio.
