The latest patch changed the Science screen, so now when you alter the Tech Tree, instead of grey lines connecting the techs, we just get the old background. It looks terrible and confusing. I didn't like the grey lines that much either, but it was better than this!

I don't like the change from the gray lines either. Maybe they didn't look the best, but they were a lot easier to work with when making significant changes to the tech tree. I wonder if in a future patch they can either reinstate the gray lines, or at least make them optional for those that want to use them.

I haven't messed with it yet either, buy yes I think you can just change the science advisor backgrounds. But that is the point: we didn't used to have to do that to make a lot of changes to technologies. I'm not much of an artist, so it's a big hassle for me to do that. Plus, that means that's just four more things (one for each era) that have to be downloaded with a mod. I really hope they make the graylines optional at some point in the future for those of us who want to use them.
Good point...but I am going to modify the picture even though I am not changing any of the sciences. I am hoping that will aloow me to read the entire science name and the amount of time to research.....but after looking at it I am doubting that it will fix the problem.

It was easier with the gray lines; there should be an option to turn them on. I'm too lazy to modify the background .pcx There are more interesting parts of my mod to work on.
