I want to run my games faster.

An interesting thing that I just read, too. Apparently, while the RAM on your graphics card is vital for the graphics display (what the computer shows on-screen), you'll still be needing that extra system RAM for processing those behind-the-scenes moves that tends to slow down the Civ game in later turns. My current 512 MB is enough to support supersized maps, but still gets bogged down when the number of units being moved off-screen exceeds a certain level. It might pay off to get that additional RAM stick so that the "virtual RAM" being added to your hard drive doesn't need to be accessed so often.

unless it is 3D, graphics display stuff is stored in main RAM. Unly current "frame" is stored in VRAM.
