idea for cool new forum

Lately some of my posts have stirred up a lot of people resulting in moderator action.

I think the CFC forums should add a "free floating hostility forum." How cool would it be if there was a forum where posters could flame each other to tears (all in good fun of course).

Just an idea=/

Such a "free fire" forum has been suggested repeatedly (sometime by a certain crusty old wargamer, flammer, and raconteur), it has just as often been disdainfully rejected by our host.

Thunderfall has insisted this site maintain a certain air of Civility. Here, discussion is encouraged, and disagreement is fine. Those who want to troll and flame are welcome to do so elsewhere.

The lack of trolling and flaming is what makes this forum more attractive to me and to many others. Changing that would be a bad thing.

You all have no idea what a great service Thunderfall has done for the internet community. If he had not drafted me, all the time I spend moraderating would otherwise have been spent flamming at other sites.

I am firmly in this camp as well. The web is full of places to act immature and call people names. CFC is nice because it is different.

Count me as another "no" vote. It's not a new idea, and it has never gotten past TF. Thankfully. I like CFC just the way it is.

Seriously, there are more than enough heated, senseless, ignorant and flaming discussions going on from time to time. No need to encourage such behaviour even more.
After all, we are fanatics, but CIVILIZED ones.

Indeed, if you feel the need to flame, you can do so at many other sites out there just yonder. CFC is fine the way it is; no need to add a forum for posters to 'release' their pent-up daily flaming requirements.

The Peanut Gallery was a similar kind of forum at CFC although it did have more rules and wasn'[t exactly for trolling...A specific forum wouldn't be that good anyway since you are more likely to get angry with someone in another thread and then you would have to start another thread in the trolling forum. Then the person you wanted to troll mightnot visit the trolling forum so it would be a waste of time.
