I love playing Scenarios and downloaded a few more from your download section but they turned out to be damp squibs. SOme of the Scenarios, Global Apocalypse, for example were completely devoid of objectivity. I ended up making hordes of units and throwing it at my opponents who did the same. I suggest there be a sort of rating for Scenarios based on a Scale from "Downright Boring" to "Tremendously captivating" or something like that. What do you guys think about this?

Good idea, Ive downloaded many a scenario that I thought generaly sucked, but well I am picky, I like big maps, lotsa cities, army size dont matter, but I like to improve my current civ while expanding, and the imperial scenario is the only one thats fit the bill, but after 2 weeks...gettin boring. Also liked the Russian revolution one but the military build up is the only possibility. And some scenarios are just impossible to improve your civ with constant nuc attacks, goddamn mge ai.

Russian revolution is sure good scenario, also Hell in Europe good scenario, but Exodus is just exellent!

What about a sub set of 2.42 scenarios for us poor slobs who can't get MGE? I've found a few but all the good ones are not formatted for my version. Or.... do I just wait for Civ III?

Check out my new scenario "Hammer of the North", when it hits the streets next week!

It's written for the basic Civ2, and it should have som enjoyable moments to it. EVERYTHING is altered, grapx, sounds, the tech tree, units etc. -to make for a completely new playing experience, and for historical color. There are no events.txt, but that doesn't mean that nothing happens!
There are some room left in the tech tree, barbarian activity, diplomatic negotiations etc of the original Civ2, to put in "events"...

So, hopefully it will be very much playable, and hold challenges for the beginner as well as the experienced Civ2 player.

We are currently playtesting it, but I think that the first version will come very soon.

I am seriously considering to make a second version for Civ2 MGE, because the events and multiplayer options open whole new doors with what you can do with it. But this will be a rather different kind of scenario.
-I have to think a lot about which events to put in and leave out.

Yours Truly,
Morten

Drew 62, the imperialist scenario I mentioned is for 2.42, but I use it for mge, if you havent tried it I highly recommend it

Das, tried the Hell in europe, that was good.
Ill try Exodus after posting.

Morten, been reading up on your scenario, Lemme know when its ready.

Anyone have any other scenarios they recommend? Seems to be a good topic to post them.

Drew62,

All of my modpacks are for Classic Civ2...I have some scenarios that are out there for Civ2 as well...but I'll admit they are mostly sci-fi.

Also, my ST:Generations will be a modpack with 5 scenarios that will be playable in Classic Civ II...I've been testing both sides of the scenarios to work it out as fun and playable in all.

My Anarctica scenario is for Classic Civ II.

---------

Now for the big question...I've wanted to put together a TOP 100 scenarios...

I'm not going to grade anyone's scenarios, but I would like some input from everyone about the ones they like to play...

With this in mind, please go to the topic:

TOP 100 Scenarios...

Thanks!
