If you could time travel, what would you do?

I'd go back in time and mentor myself. This would make me a better person more able to decide what to do with time travel. Then I'd do that once my mentoring made me better.

What would you do?

What would I do?
Much as I hate to quibble, it depends.

Do I get to make multiple trips?
How much luggage can I take with me?
In this option, I would probably do a lot of touring first, and then decide if what really happened is something I want to risk changing.

Or is it a 'Terminator' style operation, where I show up buck-naked and no way to return to my present?

That situation is a toughie.
In this event, I would guess a landing at 1840 in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Spend my life as a preemptive version of Thomas Edison, get rich, and watch the nation burn in civil war.

Nice post. Supporting pictures and everything. :b:

No computer games in your journey, just big corporation building and sleeping with secretaries and whatnot.

Okaaay.
That last time jump must have done some internal damage to my thinker.
I totally don't get your last sentence.

Seriously you should try time traveling instead of time jumping. Its much safer...

C'mon, now. You think he'd have any easier time with Cleopatra?

if you have seen Rome the TV series , Lucius Vorenus was quite a stickler to "norms" of the day .

... and whatnot.

and thinkin' of it , how come secretary is lesser woman compared to film star or queen ?

"big corporation building and sleeping with secretaries and whatnot."

:dunno: Its a bit of a reach.

Slide through parallel dimensions, obviously.

If we could time travel, could we also "pause time"? Pausing time might be more useful than the actual paradox that time travel might create
Yes?

Yeah, the ability to gather information would be amazing, presuming that we actually did end up in "our" past.
Which one? :mischief:

Observe.

Dude comon, it's a no brainer. Travel to Saturday, memorize the powerball jackpot friday night draw numbers, travel back, buy that ticket. Not an original idea, it happened in the movie time traveler's wife. Also in back to the future 2 biff made a ton of money doing something similar with sports betting.

Or I'd travel back to ~1990 buy a crap ton of apple and microsoft stock or maybe I can't since I don't exist there... so I'd tell my dad to buy a crap ton of apple and microsoft stock. Or better yet I'd go back to like 1970 and tell my grandparents to bet the farm on berkshire hathaway.

Okay, not to say that it couldn't happen, but how do you convince your grandparents to risk their financial future on the word of a crazy talking stranger? :crazyeye:

If you could persuade them that you were their grandchild, I'd say the rest would be easy.
