I'm banned from Civ IV

I've only had the game for 3 days and my neck is killing me i have trouble looking right  the timer don't work for me cuz i always want one last go :crazyeye:

Well hiding the main executable is fine, but it might be possible that the executable itself could be patched to simply save and kick you out after set amount of time, and then only let you play on certain days/certain amount of elapse time.
I should've never bought Civ 4 before Christmas.

I need a weekday lock that allows only a limited time, and a weekend lock that preserves some semblance of a life. Possibly a password over-ride where you appoint a friend to hold the password and can call them and persuade them to hand it over if you are sick or everyone goes out of town for the weekend.

Days pass on nothing but caffine, nicotine and the 8pm mission to the shop for wine and food for the oven. Even with the food you need to be sure you choose food with a wide window of baking time since subjective time has become wildly off-key...

This game is really bad for health, i´m thinking on building a cottage and a forest near my house so i can quit my job, but then i would aft to get someone to work on the cottage.....

If you're getting a sore neck it probably means your monitor is too high. You should be looking slightly down at your monitor, not up at it. Put your monitor directly on the desk and it should be about the right height, assuming your chair isn't too low.

im glad im not the only one who has thought about quitting work for more game time!!! honestly: the only reason im in a reasonable shape is because civ has made me forget dinner about 100 times over the last 15 years.

Game playing gives me the munchies, and I've got the spare tyre to prove it :p

(spare tyre requires rubber or Doritos) :-}

Fortunately I get too involved to get up for snacks. And I deliberately will not bring them into the computer room, for any number of reasons.

Has anyone taken a sick day to play it yet?.... today was sooo close for me, I must spread my religion to the unbelieving French and Indians.

I pulled 3 sickdays off to play civ4. The funny thing is i actually felt sick after playing it for 3 days solid with minimal sleep. When i got back to work it was - ' God,you look like crap' .

Civ Coma.

ROTFL

Best invention ever

I'm in in the full addiction phase too....

""""Today""" I quit playing at seven am...I woke up just for reading the forum.
Anyway I don't thik to beat the record of 1998 with Quake2. 25 hours in a row.

My girlfriend is starting to think to a secret lover...maybe for her too :D

I'm currently not working and just in school so I've pulled, a bunch of all nighters and not even on purpose, I just want to see if I'm going to get that wonder, but I need to know what happens after I go to war with Montezuma. What time is it... Ok, just 30 more minutes and I'll go to bed... why is it so bright outside? Is that the sun? Can't be, it's only... it's what time?

I've put on two nighter yet... and some others long night.... hopefully... more I play in a row... less good I'm doing. So I get pissed off losing and get away from it... RL also makes it impossible to passed to much time on it tought! but when I turn it on... time seem to disapear and I can go for hours... I've even lied to friends that I couldnt go out, just because I wanted to play some more... this is what this game is doing to you... its satan

I've gone all day, but no all-nighters yet. Trying to write my thesis...you can bet that the release of CivIV has pushed my deadline back a little.

Back when I was in high school we got a few days we were allowed to skip to go and take tours of colleges. This was when conquests came out and I used all of mine but one to just play the game.

Usually, I play until I pop some vain on my eyes. They turn red and burn a litle so a stop long enough not to loose my vision...

and, fo course, when my wife give me that look that says you better stop right now...

I dont have a job, I dont/can't work due to disabilities, so I game all day long... I spend 12-16 hrs a day plugging away at these games, everyday.

My wife is legally disabled. She plays POGO (EA online gaming) all day. She takes care of the house and the 2 cats and makes me breakfast, lunch and dinner too. But I can't help feeling a little jealous, I have to get up every morning, go to work, and just post on the threads waiting to get back home to play

not as bad as when i first played mechwarrior 4 for several hours, using a force feedback joystick. my hand was twitching when i finally decided to sleep - it was on autopilot!

civ 4 is interesting. i get the one more turn syndrome when starting a new game. as soon as it's clear i'm gonna win, i lose all interest. modern era really sucks

uninstall the game and reinstall it every weekend.
