If you have adblock on FF you should be able to right click on the button and disable the picture.

Or you could just ignore it... That's what I do.

I don't see any problems with it. It doesn't have much access to your computer. It fact it blocks whatever might have unauthorized access.

It's a hassle to use, the developer has done very shady things with it several times in the past, and it introduces minimal extra security.

Don't use it much. Have some close friends (aka "real" friends). And that's it.

Doesn't need to turn into a fashion show or anything.

But as with hiding buttons? Facebook and Google are taking over the internet so get used to it!
