Im Tired of Alexander the Great Being Called Greek

The Title says it..every civ game Alexander the Great is slapped onto the Greek Civ as 1 of their leaders..I think either Firaxes needs to learn history or they need to add Macedonia as a Civ and then Make Alexander leader of them..or just remove him completely..Im deciding to complain now becuz Im just tired of it..Shure Alexander conquerd and united the Greeks, but he was King of Macedonia not Greece...but for example USA conquerd the natives..this didnt make the USA king of the Natives, it just made them ruler of their land..

But your point about Alexander is well taken. He was a Macedonian. He considered himself, culturally at least, after all Aristotle was his tutor, to be a Greek. The Greeks considered him to be a barbarian.

Alex the Great was the King of Makedonia, but not Macedonia that has anything to do with today's Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia. The people of Makedon including Alexander himself were from the Greek Province of Aegean Makedonia which still exists today and were Greek... Because of this name similarity, Greece is forcing the Republic of Macedonia to change the name of their country.

Actually this is not true. The exceptions are rare for sure, but my parents can trace the deed for their land back to the original owners. No one was there before them. No one at all.

Not even the authorities. As you say it yourself: "Location: One step ahead of the authorities."

But eh ... the authorities are responsible for the deeds, and somebody could have been there before both your parents and the authorities.

Macedonia is Greek was Greek is Greek and will stay Greek i cant believe u guys first of all FYROM is a Slavic country Slavs weren't in the area at the times of Alexander who was speaking Greek and insisted on his Greek Heritage i dont have anything against Slavs but you have to stop calling yourself something that u are not

Adolph Hitler was born in Austria, but led the German Empire in WW2. On the other hand, I don't believe Alexander considered himself Greek, and he was spreading his Macedonian Empire. The problem is that most people are not familar enough with other Greek Leaders.

Alexander at best was half greek ( his mother was illirian and let's not discuss who Alexander's father really was ). ...

About Macedonians..... well, the elite was greek, but the rest weren't. Pretty much like Sparta.

Sorry, but I don't agree.... Because the OP is this:

What the OP IMHO is refering is if the Ancient Macedonia should be considered Greek. Well, that i'm not so sure: Greeks looked to Macedonia pretty much like French and German see the Russians: not quite...... They easily considered Syracuse, Massilia or Cyrene more Greek than Macedonia, that is for sure

nope, Napoleon is completely diff then Alexander the Great...Napoleon was born on Corsica which at the time was French..so he was French all along

Hitler Moved to Germany, and took power as a German..Alexander was a Macedonian, conquerd Greece, and claimed it for Macedonia..he never considerd himself a greek, but a macedon.so yes I agree on that

My point is just that Alexander the Great was a Macedonian King/General , not a Greek King/General....He never considerd himself Greek, but he Considerd himself a Macedonian, and the conquerer/uniter of the Greeks(finishing what his father started)

If your American, how would you like having a British leader as the leader of your nation in game..it wouldnt be right..just plain it wouldnt be right..or a canadian.
Historians don't consider him a Greek leader, Historians consider him a Leader who spread Greek Culture and established a Macedonian Empire..he conquerd/united Greece..the Romans spread Greek Culture becuz they used it themselves, but they wheren't Greeks
