Can someone either tell me how to join or how to start a multi player game cause im a nube and I don't understand how multiplayer works yet.

There are many type of Multiplayer games, but if you mean PBEM is actually very very simple.

The first player setups the game. This is done through the Multiplayer menu. It's actually simple, but is a bit different and strange the first time. I recommend this to be done by a non-newbie.
After the setup menu, the first players makes his moves and then saves the game in the end of his moves and sends it to the second player.

The second players receives a file (*.sav) and then opens the file through Civ (just like a normal open of a saved file). There is a first screen where you define your password and then... it's just like playing the Single Player game. After you've finished, you can press ENTER [END TURN] and he'll ask you to save the file (also tells you to which Civ to send the file next). Then you send the file you've saved to the next player... so it's quite similar to Single Player... you just open the file you've received and send the file you've saved after doing your moves.

Two notes:
- One thing different is trading (F4): it is not automatic and can be a bit confusing in the beginning but... well, it's learning by doing!
- The order of play can be fixed or not. I think most PBEM's are fixed 'cause it's simpler to always send the file to the same person.

For more I highly recommend the reading of the EXCELLENT thread:

What kind of PBEM are thinking of setting up? Epic game or scenario?

If it's a scenario, count me in!!! :smug:

If it's an Epic game, count me out! :ack:
